
Morro Bay Charters offers to the bereaved family and friends, the opportunity to disperse ashes in the Pacific Ocean. We use the Coast Guard inspected vessel Dos Osos and can accommodate up to 26 passengers. Dos Osos, a 32-foot power catamaran, is very stable on the ocean. No formal service is required. It is up to you what kind of tribute you would like to have. Our clients' preferences range from a simple ash scattering with one or two family members present, to a formal service with up to the full vessel capacity of 26 people in attendance. Please inspect the container before boarding the Dos Osos to see if you will need a tool to open it. Your crematorium or mortuary service can provide various types of containers. Please check with them for the one most suited to your needs. USGS Certified Captain, Kevin Winfield, is a registered cremated remains disposer (CRD 609) who operates the Dos Osos, a power catamaran, for ash scatterings and memorials. The Dos Osos at 699 Embarcadero #9, Morro Bay, on the waterfront between the Flying Dutchman Restaurant and Marina Square. Ash scatterings and memorial services are usually held at 9 a.m. before the wind picks up. However, we will try to accommodate your specific needs.
